IANS is an independent news agency that is increasingly being looked at by media outfits and others around the world as a dependable content provider and information resource on India, Indians and South Asia.

Netizen journalists/experts on various subjects are welcome to contribute dispatches/commentaries of interest to India, South Asia and the Indian diaspora from within India and across the world. Those found usable will be used on IANS global wire and will get national and international visibility through IANS subscribers worldwide on print and internet.

Contributions should therefore be of interest to a larger readership; should try to answer basic questions such as who, what, when, where, how and why, be of average length of 500-600 words and, most important, should not be potentially libelous or controversial.

Commentaries can however be of up to 900 words. Only commentaries / opinions from experts in particular fields will be carried.

IANS will carry a line at the end about the author and his or her area of expertise and e-mail ID for reader feedback.
