Kolkata, Nov 14 (IANS) Losses caused by cyclone Bulbul in West Bengal could climb to Rs 50,000 crore, with 15 lakh hectares of agricultural land damaged by the calamity on Saturday night, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday after making an aerial survey of the affected areas of North 24 Parganas district.

Kolkata, Nov 13 (IANS) Union Minister Babul Supriyo on Wednesday said no political angle should be given to his intended visit to the coastal areas of South 24 Parganas district which was lashed by cyclone Bulbul, and warned the ruling Trinamool Congress that if he was stopped, it would mean they don't want him to get a first hand idea of the ground situation.

Kolkata, Nov 11 (IANS) The death count in severe cyclone 'Bulbul' rose to 10 in West Bengal as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas in South 24 Parganas district on Monday and later announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those killed in the storm that pounded the state two days back.
