NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Jeremy Stipkala, Ph.D., J.D., Patent Attorney with Thrive IP®, North Charleston, SC, was honored as a top-ten finalist for the G. Dewey Oxner, Jr., Mentor of the Year Award from the Supreme Court of South Carolina Chief Justice's Commission on the Profession.
The annual award recognizes and commends those who have surpassed expectations as a mentor in the Supreme Court's Lawyer Mentoring Program. At the award luncheon on April 10, 2017, South Carolina Supreme Court Justice John W. Kittredge gave a brief history of G. Dewey Oxner, Jr.'s dedication to mentorship and the law, and presented this year's award to Kirby D. Shealy, III of Adams and Reese, LLP. South Carolina Supreme Court Justice George C. James, Jr. and Chief Judge James E. Lockemy, of the South Carolina Court of Appeals, also attended.
Dr. Stipkala was nominated by Sabrina C. Call, Esq., of The Law Firm of Cynthia Ann O'Dell, P.C. Ms. Call earned a J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2014. Following graduation from CSL, Ms. Call was mentored by Dr. Stipkala through the Supreme Court's Lawyer Mentoring Program.

Dr. Stipkala is a Registered United States Patent Attorney and is admitted to practice law in South Carolina, D.C., and Maryland.
